Magazine Spread: London’s Cultural
Tourists
The Big Ben, National Gallery, Buckingham Palace and
Westminster Abbey are all shown in the first page on the spread, this shows
that the magazine must be about tourism.
The Royal Guards, A very big part of London as they are the
Queens Guards that protect her palace.
The red around the number of pages and the guards represent
London’s ideal color as Busses are also red they are a big part of London as they’ve
been around since 1829.
From the start of the page, we can tell from the images that
they are all located in Central London like the Big Ben and the Buckingham
Palace shown, this straight away tells us that the magazine is about London
Tourism or it can be about London like statically facts the people want to know
or learn. Already from the contents page, we can say that the whole text and
colours and themes are related to London as the colour RED is very associated
with London as the Queens Royal Guards are dressed in red, Busses as well have
been around since 1829 and they have been the colour RED from the start and I think
that it will remain red to keep the tradition.
London is a red city for tourists going on visiting Central
London or any part of London they will be amazed to see that pretty much RED is
the colour of London, Also because it’s part of the Flag White Red and Blue,
here is some stuff that is coloured red.
·
London Buses and Route Master Bus
·
Bus Shelters
·
Royal Mail delivery van and Old bus ticket
machine
·
Circle around Underground stations has the
England Flag Red (Ring) White (Circle) Blue (Text)
·
Letterboxes and Telephone boxes.
I really think that this magazine counts to a professional
magazine as said in the first image the introduction it already gives you a
feeling for London Tourism or something to do statically. The first page already
gives me a lot of information with a picture that suits the page. We can get
that reference to the colour red at the top where the number page is. The fonds
are very easy to read but they are a little bit too small for a zoomed-in page
to read as I’ve made the spread smaller to fit the page and you can barely or
even see it. The title is nice and big suitable for each page very easy to read
and see what the page is about. Also where the parts are highlighted with bold
text at the bottom there’s a little bit of contextual fact there’s a percentage
which makes the magazine a lot professional.
On the second page, we get the same feeling but the pages
have switched between image and text, Also we get a little more of a fact side but
the title tells us how the Page is about Visits, The types are all Sans Serif
as they are separated a little bit from each character and also because they
are really standing out in large titles but sans serifs are the most commonly
used in magazines, book and some newspapers.
The target audience for this I’m getting people that like to
travel a lot also adults or even photographers as they want to know what parts
of London are best to take pictures and visit, I feel like teenagers wouldn’t read any more magazines or newspaper as technology is a big part of the day too day.
Website: London 365 Cool, Hidden and
Unusual Things to Do in London, England
The introduction of this website looks professional in my opinion
as the fond stands out with the background image, They also have a little
context under the main title what he place contains, “365 cool, hidden and
unusual things”. I feel like the subtitle where it says “Unusual Attractions in
London” makes me feel like those locations are somewhere not fun to or not
expected to be how they are as it’s an “Unusual attraction” to the place.
Digital Images Types
The resolution of an image means the quality of detail we would use for images used on the web. Resolution refers to the number of pixels in an image, The resolution of an image is identified by the width and the height as the total number of pixels e.g. 2048 pixels wide 1536 pixels high will result in (2048 - 1536) resolution.
DPI is a big part of image resolution because its part of the pixels in the image, (Dots Per Inch) PPI (Pixels Per Inch) so when someone wants a image of 600 dpi the same result will be for ppi
600 dpi means 600 ppi.
In a website you'll need a 72ppi for any website.
GIF is a format that is used for animated images and usually the animation is at the same at the end as where it was in the beginning and this makes for a smooth and seamless animation.
TIFF is a computer file format for storing raster graphic images, this is very wide and popular amongst artists and photographers.
BMP or Bitmap Image File is another raster graphics image file format that is used to store bitmap digital images.
CMYK is are all of the colours that are used in a printer, this stands for Cyan, Magenta , Yellow and Black, these are the four basic colours that are used for printing and this is because these colours can mix together and make other colours
JPEG is probably the most common image format that is used on websites and it is also used for digital images, most of those being digital photograph.
PNG is also another commom format that is used for images and this is a picture that i ready for print and so it can be easily resized without suffering the loss of resolution or image quality.
Yoni Alter
This image represents a part of New York buildings, there are a lot of things i like about this first its the colour used it brings a New York vibe as its always busy the colours gives it an excitement fell, It almost looking like a cartoon design, The other thing that i really like is how he outlined the buildings this is not a normal Yoni Alter work its more complex as its not only buildings in one colour hes used different colour combinations to make the image look more alive giving it a more enchanted feeling,
Promotional Research - Disney
TV Adverts: Disneyland Paris-
In this video they are promotion the place, which is Disneyland in Paris presented by some of the main starts of Disney film production.
The main visuals are the characters and the place because they make the audience attracted,
The main image is to get the most successful characters of Disney to promote it to get the attention.
The video is based on short videos of some characters of Disney its also around 5-10 seconds of screen time each, The advert is persuading the audience to come visit the place, They also focused at the ending of each on some part of the place where each character located in a movie or show.
Disney has a range of different target audience however for this advert they are aiming for children but adults have to be attended.
I think that all Disney adverts are reaching their targets if it is audience or being successful i think everyone will be pleased to see a advert from them because they are high quality short but very attractive, For this because Disney has a lot of children audience they have met their target it also suits every age,
Marvel Summer of Super Hero's Disneyland
In this advert there are a range of different target audience because marvel super hero's are based on a higher age, but what they are advertising is the super hero's of Marvel Disney coming to Disneyland,
The main image are the characters "hero's" coming to Disney and also the target audience this time because super hero movies or shows are mostly ages 15A where if children want to watch they'll need an adult so in the advert there were a lot of adults in the first half but for the entire part.
The advert is trying to persuade everyone to come at Disneyland on dates given for a special meeting of super hero's
The target audience for this advert was aimed for children however there are a lot of adults in the scene because most of Disney's super hero's movies and shows contain a lot of fighting that companies are not allowed to show to younger unless they have any adults with them which in the advert there were parents with children and older aged that shows everyone is attracted to Disney.
As i said in the first part in my opinion because Disney have bought a lot of different companies and that they work together or owned and its very popular and big i think every Disney commercial is successful.

Analysing Poster
As i said that at the end of the last poster it was aimed for teenagers - adults this poster goes to show that its more kids related as its also saying kids on the poster its related to kids, Also there's a super deal kids under the age of 7 are allowed to play for free, this advertisement is the iconic characters from famous Disney movies for example Buzz Light year and Woody from Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Genie from Aladdin and many more promoting their theme park while also giving a deal that might appeal to the audience more.
Museum of London
There's are some images i took from when we went we went on our trip to the museum of London, I found this really useful as we all had a task to complete a portrait by Yoni Alter but with our own images, We also spend some time inside of the museum however the group i was with we all decided to go take pictures of builds as so, Although i enjoyed walking around London seeing a lot of historical buildings but the day was very gloomy and wet and mostly tiring, One down side of this is that we didn't get to visit the main parts like the Tower Bridge, and also the quality of the images are not that bad as i was taking images as going past them, I would use some of them if i edited them very well in changing some lightening aspects as seen in the first two images they are mixed in colour the sky being very bright and the buildings showing but very dark, Although i really enjoyed and happy i had the chance to visit them.
Distribution Research
Promotional item for London
What is it for?
It’s for
teenagers to gain attention for arts performance.
They are
attracting young aged teenagers to gain professional music skills, producing management
and performing skills, They host a range of different event like festivals,
fundraisers and monthly open mic nights.
Who is the target audience?
Their target
audience are young people aged 14-25 that are interested in performance arts
like music or acting.
What is the format? How many pages or
folds?
Leaflet, it’s
double sided
Are they Successful? /effective?
Looking at
this simple leaflet I would say that it caught my eye attention without having
to read any titles or lines from it, The colour combination is also attractive,
its not to small not to big where people would be happy with it, Also they have
their socials at the bottom of the leaflet so you can do a quick research of
what the place and thing is about,
At the back
of it there’s 3 different texts, WHO ARE WE? , HOW TO JOIN, (a producer and a
performer) it’s simply white text on a plain black background with BOLD for
each title,
In my
opinion its got my eye attention without looking what’s its about so I think it
is very effective.

Audience Research
What my target audience aim for this project is to direct and attract young teenagers from ages of 13 towards adults to the age of 35-40, I think the audience I've chose its suitable for this because now days a lot of teenagers are creating a lot of fashion styles they know best of what to wear, Also targeted at the adults because a lot of adults from ages 20-30 like to shop a lot for fashion, If it is Nike, Adidas Primark.. The main focus here is for people that understand what fashion really means and how it was invented, what history it has behind it, My gender target is both Females and Males because a couple or a family, Here is a chart i found on some statistics on what Both Females and Males shop for ONLINE.
